Save up to $300 with The QuitCarbon Rebate

Get maximum rebates, free expert guidance, and vetted contractors for your clean home upgrades!

In addition to rebates from state, utility, and local sources, you can save up to $300 by working with QuitCarbon on your home's clean energy upgrades.

Applicable upgrades include:

  • Heat pumps for home heating and cooling (HVAC)
  • Heat pump water heaters (HPWH)
  • Electrical upgrades to support conversion of gas appliances to electric (minimum $4,000)
  • Solar and/or home battery (installed by a contractor)
  • Battery-equipped induction range or cooktop ordered via QuitCarbon from Copper or Impulse

We recommend that you meet with a QuitCarbon Clean Energy Coach to discuss our expert analysis and discover the best opportunities for upgrading your home.

Rebate Terms

To qualify for the rebate, you must:

  • Create a QuitCarbon Home Profile
  • Complete your QuitCarbon Home Profile by adding information about your home and appliances (minimum: heating/cooling, water heating, clothes drying, cooking)
  • Link your gas and electric utility accounts (or provide your energy usage history if you prefer)
  • Review your QuitCarbon Insights
  • Request and receive a referral to a QuitCarbon-vetted contractor for a qualifying project - or buy a qualifying electric appliance via a QuitCarbon-supplied link 
  • Complete your clean energy upgrade with a contractor or vendor referred by QuitCarbon, or complete installation of your qualifying electric appliance
  • Add the "paid" invoice or receipt to your QuitCarbon Home Profile
  • Submit a QuitCarbon Rebate Request
  • Total cost, before taxes, shipping, and permits, must be $4,000 or greater

The QuitCarbon Rebate is $100 for the first qualified clean energy upgrade and $200 for the second, limited to two upgrades and $300 per customer.

This rebate is not applicable for participants of city-sponsored programs, such as (but not limited to):

  • City of Palo Alto Electrification Expert program
  • City of San Francisco heat pump water heater Direct Install Program (via the Climate Equity Hub)
