What QM Code (Form 5695) do I need for the heat pump tax credit?
From Midea to Rheem, here are the most common QM codes for the Federal heat pump tax credit (Form 5695, Part II).
If you're eligible for a heat pump tax credit, one of the final steps is to include project expenses and 4-digit Qualified Manufacturer (QM) code in your tax filing (Part II of Form 5695). Here are the most common QM codes:
| Brand | QMID |
|---|---|
| A.O. Smith | A5X5 |
| Allied | L7S0 |
| Amana | I7Q6 |
| Bosch | K3M2 |
| Bradford White | V5B3 |
| Bryant | N8H2 |
| Carrier | N8H2 |
| Daikin | I7Q6 |
| Eco2 Systems | R1L2 |
| Friedrich | N2V1 |
| Fujitsu | F8N3 |
|
GE |
Z0T6 |
| Goodman | I7Q6 |
| Gree | P9H1 |
| Heil | N8H2 |
| Lennox (AC Pro) | L7S0 |
| Mitsubishi | E8X7 |
| Navien | M6G5 |
| Rheem | K3A8 |
| RUUD | K3A8 |
| Samsung | J5X6 |
| Sanden (SanCO2) | R1L2 |
| Senville | X7Z8 |
Don't see your brand? It might be Midea. Many affordable heat pumps are manufactured by Midea and sold under a domestic brand name (e.g. Senville). If your unit was made by Midea, use QM code X7Z8.
Some brands share a code because the QM code identifies the manufacturer, not the brand. Daikin, Goodman, and Amana all use the same code.
