CleanPowerSF offers a rebate of $600 for upgrading to a clean, efficient water heater. CARE and FERA program participants can receive an extra year of bill credits, totaling $1,800 over three years. This rebate applies to replacing existing water heaters with eligible heat pump models.

More Information

  • To qualify, you must be a residential customer of CleanPowerSF.
  • Replace your existing water heater with an ENERGYSTAR® certified heat pump water heater with a Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) of 3.3 or greater.
  • Enroll your new water heater in PG&E’s WatterSaver Program for daily load shifting.
  • Ensure compliance with permit requirements from the Department of Building Inspection.
