The Alameda Municipal Power Heat Pump Heating and Air Conditioning Rebate offers homeowners up to $1,500 off the cost of a new heat pump system. This rebate is available to customers replacing existing fossil fuel heating and cooling appliances.

More Information
- To qualify, the heat pump must have a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) of 16 or higher and a Heat Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) of 9.2 or higher.
- The rebate applies only to customers replacing the entire gas furnace with a heat pump system. Proof of gas decommissioning is required, such as removal of old gas equipment or capping the gas line.
- Only one rebate per condensing unit is allowed, and customers are eligible for an HVAC rebate once every 10 years.
- Participants must switch to a D1-H rate schedule after installing the heat pump system.
- Redundancy or emergency heating systems using natural gas at the same service address will disqualify the heat pump system from this program.
- Rebates must be submitted within 6 months of the installation date.
- New construction is not eligible for this rebate.
