Overview
Burbank Water and Power offers a rebate for homeowners who replace their existing fossil fuel heating systems with heat pumps. This rebate provides $1,000 per ton of heat pump capacity, with a maximum rebate of $5,000.
This rebate only applies to replacing existing fossil fuel appliances.

- To apply for the rebate, download and complete the application form.
- Submit the application with all required documents via U.S. mail or in person at Burbank Water and Power's office.
- Applications must be submitted no later than six months following the issuance date of finalized permits by the City of Burbank for the installation of the equipment.
- Rebates are limited to direct costs for heat pump equipment and panel upgrades.
- Rebate requests must be submitted no later than four months from the date of purchase.
- The rebate amount cannot exceed the product purchase price.
- The applicant must be a Burbank Water and Power customer with an active BWP electrical account.
- Rebates are not guaranteed, and some limitations apply.
- The Residential Rebate program is subject to change without notice.
- Burbank Water and Power is not responsible for items lost or destroyed in the mail.
- Rebates apply to new appliance purchases only; refurbished and reconditioned appliances do not qualify.
- Rebate checks will be mailed within 6-8 weeks of BWP receiving the application.
- The applicant must include a copy of the receipt or entire invoice.
