Overview
The City of Palo Alto offers a rebate of $2,500 for homeowners replacing their fossil fuel-based heating systems with a heat pump HVAC system. Income-eligible residents may receive up to $5,000. To access this rebate, you must first submit a rebate application online, including photos of your existing appliances to be replaced, before your contractor performs the work. After approval, you have 120 days to select a contractor, complete the installation, and submit the final rebate application with required documentation, such as invoices and proof of permit inspection.
This rebate only applies to replacing existing fossil fuel appliances.
