Overview
The City of Palo Alto offers a $2,500 rebate for homeowners replacing existing fossil fuel heating systems with a heat pump HVAC system. This rebate applies to both ducted (central air) and ductless (mini-split) heat pump systems. To qualify, the new heat pump must have a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) of 15 or higher and a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) of 8.5 or higher. This rebate is limited to one per electric account. For income-qualified residents, additional savings are available.
