The City of Palo Alto Utilities offers a rebate for electrical prewiring, wiring, and circuit upgrades. You can save $500 per circuit, up to a total of $2,500, when preparing for an appliance upgrade. This rebate applies to new heat pump water heaters, heat pump space heating and cooling systems, or electric cooktops/ranges.

- Application Process: To access this rebate, submit an online application before your contractor performs the work. Include photos of your existing appliances to be replaced with your application.
- Installation Timeline: After approval, you have 120 days to select a contractor, complete the installation, and submit the final rebate application with required documentation, such as invoices and proof of permit inspection.
- Eligibility: This rebate is available to residents of Palo Alto who are customers of the City of Palo Alto Utilities.
