- Eligibility: This rebate is available to residents of Palo Alto who are replacing an existing electric resistance water heater with a qualifying heat pump water heater.
- Application Process: To access this rebate, you must first submit a rebate application online, including photos of your existing appliances to be replaced, before your contractor performs the work. After approval, you have 120 days to select a contractor, complete the installation, and submit the final rebate application with required documentation, such as invoices and proof of permit inspection.
- Program End Date: The heat pump HVAC rebate, heat pump water heater, and all add-on rebates are only available for projects completed on or after January 13, 2025. All rebate applications must be submitted no later than 90 days after the project has passed final inspection.
