The City of Piedmont offers a $1,500 rebate for installing a ducted central air source heat pump. Low-income residents can double this amount to $3,000. To qualify, you must replace an existing gas furnace with a new, certified heat pump system. Eligible equipment must have a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) of 16.0 or greater and a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) of 8.5 or greater. Both the condenser unit and the air handler should be new and installed simultaneously. This rebate is available to property owners in Piedmont who provide proof of ownership and meet the income qualifications. - Property owners can apply for rebates for multiple appliances (i.e., heat pump water heater and ductless heat pump).
- To be eligible for the rebate, applicants must be City of Piedmont property owners.
- Applicants must provide proof of property ownership, equipment receipts or paid invoices, installation receipts or paid contractor’s invoices with contractor’s license number, photos of installed equipment, and documentation of approved final inspection.
