The City of Piedmont offers a $750 rebate for homeowners installing a new mini-split heat pump system. This incentive is available to all residents, with double the rebate amount for low-income households. No previous air conditioning system is required to qualify.

More Information

  • To be eligible, the new system must replace an existing gas furnace.
  • The unit must be certified by the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) and listed in the AHRI Directory of Certified Equipment.
  • The system should have a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) of 16.0 or greater and a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) of 8.5 or greater.
  • The rebate is available for installations with a building permit submitted on or after January 3, 2023.
  • Installations must be performed by a licensed contractor with an active City of Piedmont business license.
  • The program is ongoing until funding is exhausted.
