The City of Piedmont offers a $750 rebate for homeowners who replace their existing gas furnace with a ductless mini-split heat pump. This incentive is available to all residents, with double the rebate amount for low-income households. To qualify, the new heat pump must be certified by the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) and listed in the AHRI Directory of Certified Equipment. Additionally, the system must have a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) of 16.0 or greater and a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) of 8.5 or greater. This rebate applies only to replacing existing gas furnaces.
