The City of Piedmont offers a $750 rebate for homeowners installing a new mini-split heat pump system. This incentive is available to residents without a prior air conditioning system. The rebate amount is $750.

More Information

  • To qualify, the new system must replace an existing gas furnace.
  • The heat pump must be certified by the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) and listed in the AHRI Directory of Certified Equipment.
  • The system must have a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) of 16.0 or greater and a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) of 8.5 or greater.
  • The rebate is available for installations completed on or after January 3, 2023.
  • For low-income residents, the rebate amount is doubled to $1,500.
  • Applications are considered in the order they are received, and the program will continue until funding is exhausted.
