The CHARGE! program offers El Dorado County residents a $300 rebate for purchasing and installing a Level 2 electric vehicle charger at home. To qualify, you must own or lease an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. If you already have a 220/240-volt outlet in your garage or carport, you can simply plug in the charger and schedule an inspection. If not, you'll need to obtain a building permit and hire a contractor for installation. - Applicants must reside in El Dorado County.
- You must own or lease an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle.
- Purchase a Level 2 electric vehicle charger; optional accessories are not eligible for this incentive.
- If there's an existing 220/240-volt outlet in your garage or carport, install and plug in the charger, then take a photo.
- If you need to install a new outlet or hardwire the charger, obtain a building permit and hire a contractor.
- Submit a CHARGE incentive program claim form along with supporting documents within 6 months of purchasing the charger.
- An AQMD inspection may be required before disbursement.
