The CHARGE! program offers a rebate of up to $300 for El Dorado County residents who purchase a Level 2 electric vehicle charger for their home. To qualify, you must own or lease an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. A building permit and inspection are required if the charger is hardwired.

- Applicants must reside in El Dorado County.
- Proof of ownership or lease of an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle is required.
- The rebate applies to the purchase of a Level 2 electric vehicle charger; optional accessories are not eligible.
- If there is an existing 220/240-volt outlet in your garage or carport, you can plug in the charger and schedule an inspection.
- If a new 220/240-volt outlet is needed or the charger is hardwired, obtain a building permit and hire a contractor for installation.
- Submit a CHARGE! incentive program claim form along with supporting documents within six months of purchasing the charger.
- An AQMD inspection may be required before the rebate is issued.
