Overview

The Drive Clean! program offers El Dorado County residents a $599 rebate for purchasing or leasing an eligible new electric vehicle. To qualify, vehicles must be owned or leased for at least three years within El Dorado County. Please refer to the approved vehicle list for eligible models.

Upgrading to an electric vehicle can make your home more comfortable and increase its value. Electric vehicles reduce pollution, helping to improve air quality and combat climate change.

More Information

  • Pre-approval from the El Dorado County Air Quality Management District (AQMD) is required before purchasing or leasing the vehicle.
  • Eligible vehicles include battery electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and fuel cell electric vehicles.
  • The vehicle must have a base MSRP of $60,000 or less for large vehicles (SUVs, trucks, vans) and $45,000 or less for cars (sedans, coupes, hatchbacks).
  • Plug-in hybrid vehicles must have a minimum EPA electric range of 30 miles.
  • The vehicle must be registered and insured in El Dorado County.
  • Applicants must retain ownership of the vehicle in El Dorado County for at least 36 consecutive months.
  • Only one incentive per household is allowed. Previous Drive Clean! incentive recipients are not eligible.
  • The program is subject to the availability of funds.
