Rebate Overview

Overview

QuitCarbon is excited to share the LADWP EV Charger Rebate, a program that offers rebates to help offset the cost of purchasing and installing eligible Level 2 (240-volt) electric vehicle chargers. You can save up to $1,000 for the charger and an additional $250 for installing a dedicated EV meter, totaling up to $1,250 in savings. This program is provided by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

Benefits

Installing an EV charger at home makes charging your electric vehicle convenient and cost-effective. It also supports a cleaner environment by reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Plus, it can increase your home's value and appeal to future buyers interested in sustainable living.

More Information

  • To qualify, you must be an LADWP account holder with an active electric meter on a residential rate plan.
  • Rebates are available for the purchase and installation of a qualified Level 2 charger and a dedicated EV meter.
  • Income-eligible customers participating in LADWP's Senior Citizen/Disability Lifeline or EZ-SAVE programs may receive an additional $500 rebate.
  • Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and funds are limited. It's important to apply early to secure your rebate.
  • Rebates are not guaranteed; LADWP may waitlist applications if funding becomes insufficient.
  • Applications must be submitted online or by mail, and only paper and online applications are accepted. Faxed, scanned, or emailed applications will not be accepted.
  • Upon receipt of all completed, required application documentation, expect up to 120 days for LADWP to issue payment for any rebate(s) applied for under the program.
  • Rebates are limited to one per residence for the purchase of a qualifying EVSE and one for the installation of a dedicated EV meter and service.
  • Rebates are available for new and unused EV chargers purchased from a retailer typically in the business of selling brand new EVSEs. Resold, refurbished, used, rebuilt, received from warranty insurance claims, received as a gift, or won as a prize are not eligible.
  • Customers may only receive a rebate for the purchase of a qualifying EVSE if the EVSE was purchased new and unused from a retailer typically in the business of selling brand new EVSEs.
  • LADWP reserves the right to inspect the qualifying EVSE installation at any time with reasonable notice. The program participant must provide LADWP’s representative reasonable access to the EVSE location during normal business hours.
  • Program participants who fail to allow reasonable access to the EVSE for inspection purposes by an authorized LADWP representative or fail to maintain the rebated EVSE in service at the original deployment location for a minimum of six months shall reimburse LADWP the full rebate amount(s) received under the program or will otherwise forfeit any rebate payable under the program.
  • Applications must be submitted no later than 12 months from the purchase date of a qualifying EVSE or, if applying without an EVSE rebate, no later than six months from the date of the invoice for the installation of a qualifying EVSE that was resold, refurbished, used, rebuilt, received from warranty insurance claims, received as a gift, won as a prize, or the installation of a dedicated EVSE TOU service and meter by LADWP.
