The PWP Electric Panel Upgrade Rebate is a $1,000 rebate offered by Pasadena Water and Power to residential customers who upgrade their electric panel to 200 amps or more. To qualify, the upgrade must include dedicated circuits for a Level 2 EV charger and an electric water heater. The rebate amount can go up to $1,500 for income-qualified customers.

More Information

  • The electric panel must be upgraded to 200 amps or greater.
  • A dedicated Level 2 EV charger circuit and a dedicated electric water heater circuit (240V, 30-amp double-pole circuit breakers) must be included.
  • The upgrade must be performed by a licensed electrician.
  • The property must demonstrate completion of a newly installed Level 2 EV charger or electric water heater.
  • The rebate is limited to one per residential electric service address.
  • Applications must be submitted within 180 days from the date of final electrical permit approval.
  • Rebates are processed within six weeks from submission.
  • Income-qualified customers can receive an additional $500 bonus.
