To qualify, the charger must be wall-mounted and equipped with the SAE J1772 standard or Tesla connector plug. An electrical permit from the City of Riverside's Building and Safety Division is required for installation. This rebate is available on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is exhausted or the program is discontinued.

- All electrical work must be performed by a qualified and licensed contractor in accordance with local codes, permitting, and inspection requirements.
- Rebates are limited to one per household every three years.
- Applications must be submitted within 180 days of completed installation.
- Rebates less than $500 will be applied as a bill credit; rebates of $500 or more will be issued as a check mailed to the customer.
