Overview
Riverside Public Utilities offers a rebate for homeowners who install a Level 2 (240-Volt AC) electric vehicle charger at their residence. This rebate can help cover the cost of the charger and its installation. To qualify, the charger must be a new, wall-mounted unit installed at your home. An electrical permit from the City of Riverside's Building and Safety Division is required for the installation of a hard-wired EV charger or new/modified 240V power socket. Additionally, you have the opportunity to charge your EV using a separate Time-of-Use (TOU) meter. RPU is offering up to a $1,000 rebate to cover the cost of the EV meter adapter installation and associated permit fees, in addition to the Level 2 charger rebate. Rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is expended or the program is discontinued. Applications must be submitted within 180 days of completed installation.
