Riverside Public Utilities offers a rebate for homeowners who install a Level 2 (240-Volt AC) electric vehicle charger at their residence. This rebate can help you save up to $1,500! To qualify, the charger must be a wall-mounted, permanent installation. Additionally, you can receive up to a $1,000 rebate for the installation of a separate Time-of-Use (TOU) meter, which allows you to charge your EV at off-peak times for lower rates.

More Information
- To be eligible, you must be an active Riverside Public Utilities electric customer.
- The Level 2 charger must be a new, wall-mounted unit installed at your residence.
- An electrical permit from the City of Riverside’s Building and Safety Division is required for the installation of a hard-wired EV charger or new/modified 240V power socket.
- For the Time-of-Use meter, you can receive up to a $1,000 rebate to cover the cost of the EV meter adapter installation and associated permit fees.
- Rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is expended or the program is discontinued.
- For rebates under $500, a credit will be applied to your RPU bill. For rebates over $500, a check will be mailed to your address.
- Applications must be submitted within 180 days of completed installation.
