Overview

The Riverside Public Utilities Used EV Rebate offers up to $1,000 off the purchase or lease of a used Battery Electric or Plug-In Hybrid vehicle bought after January 1, 2023. Low-income customers enrolled in RPU's SHARE program can receive an increased rebate of up to $2,500.

More Information

  • Applicants must be active Riverside Public Utilities electric customers.
  • The EV must be registered at the applicant's service address.
  • The vehicle must be purchased from a commercial used vehicle seller.
  • Applicants must provide a copy of the purchase or lease agreement and the California Department of Motor Vehicles registration.
  • Applications must be submitted within 180 days of purchase.
  • Only one EV rebate per household is allowed every three years.
  • The vehicle must be approved for highway use; electric scooters, bicycles, golf carts, and similar vehicles are not eligible.
  • Rebates under $500 will be applied as a bill credit; rebates of $500 or more will be mailed as a check.
  • Rebate availability is subject to funding.
