The San Diego Community Power Solar Battery Savings Rebate is a program that offers homeowners rebates for installing new solar and battery systems or adding batteries to existing solar setups. Rebates range from $250 to $500 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of battery capacity, depending on your customer type and system choice. For example, a 10 kWh battery could qualify for a rebate between $2,500 and $5,000. Additionally, participants can earn $0.10 per kWh when discharging 50% of their battery during weekday evenings between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., further reducing energy costs.

More Information
- Eligibility: Must be a San Diego Community Power residential customer, install the battery at a single-family home with the same address where you receive service, fully charge the battery at your home with solar panels, and not be enrolled in other energy programs like the Emergency Load Relief Program or Demand Side Grid Support.
- Program Enrollment: Enrollment opened on September 30, 2025. To participate, select an approved contractor to guide you through the application process.
- Performance Incentives: Participants earn $0.10 per kWh when discharging 50% of their battery during the required weekday dispatch window.
- Program Duration: To retain the full upfront rebate, customers must remain enrolled in the program for at least five years. If you leave before five years, you may need to repay a portion of the rebate.
