The San Diego HEART Electric Dryer Low Income Rebate is a program designed to help eligible residents replace their gas dryers with energy-efficient electric models. This initiative offers up to 100% coverage for permits, appliance disposal, new appliance purchases, and labor costs, though final amounts may vary based on individual circumstances. To determine if your home is in an eligible area, enter your address in the City of San Diego Climate Equity Index Map.

More Information
- Available to households impacted by severe flooding in San Diego from December 2023 to January 2024, those earning less than 80% of the Area Median Income within the City of San Diego, and others located in Communities of Concern.
- Household residents apply for the rebates and are matched with contractors. Contractors are required to pay upfront and will receive a refund for their purchase/installation fees from the HEART Program. Applicants are required to pay for any fees not covered by the program.
- Residents must use a contractor approved by the program, and work must be approved before starting.
- The program will distribute rebates in three phases through February 2026, or until funds are exhausted.
