Overview

The San Diego HEART program offers a rebate for eligible households to replace their existing fossil fuel water heaters with energy-efficient heat pump water heaters. This initiative is available to residents impacted by severe flooding in San Diego from December 2023 to January 2024, who earn less than 80% of the Area Median Income and reside within designated Communities of Concern. The rebate may cover up to 100% of project costs. To qualify, residents must use a contractor approved by the program, and all work must be approved before starting. This rebate only applies to replacing existing fossil fuel appliances.
