Overview
Sonoma Clean Power offers a $700 rebate for homeowners replacing their fossil fuel water heaters with qualifying heat pump water heaters. To qualify, your new heat pump must meet one of the following criteria:
- Be a SanCO2 model.
- If not a SanCO2 model and 120V, be Wi-Fi capable.
- If not a SanCO2 model and 240V, be Wi-Fi capable and have a Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) of 3.43 or higher.

Upgrading to a heat pump water heater can make your home more comfortable and energy-efficient. These systems use less energy, which can lower your utility bills. Additionally, they help reduce pollution from gas appliances, benefiting the environment.
More Information
- Rebate applications must be submitted no more than 90 days after project completion.
- The installation address must be an SCP account.
- Customers are eligible for one rebate per appliance type per account number.
- Heat pump systems paired with a gas heating element are ineligible for rebates.
- SCP rebates are not to exceed the total project cost when combined with other rebates.
- New construction is not eligible, with the exception of fire rebuilds.
- To receive free induction cookware, customers should contact our Customer Center to arrange pickup after the rebate has been approved. Customers have 14 days to collect their cookware.
- Customers may opt to allocate $25 of their rebate to a Community Partner of their choice. Personal information won't be shared with the Community Partner unless requested. Please note, donations are not tax-deductible.
