This upgrade helps manage increased energy use from converting gas appliances to electric ones or adding a Level 2 electric vehicle charger. More Information
- Applications must be submitted within 60 days from the date of final permit approval.
- Rebates are valid for purchases made with United States currency only.
- Limit one rebate per Silicon Valley Power service address.
- To qualify for income-qualified bonus incentives, income verification through Silicon Valley Power’s Financial Rate Assistance Program is required within the previous 12 months prior to performance of the work.
- Panel must be upgraded to a smart electric panel of 100 amps or greater to be eligible for the rebate. Standard electric panels are ineligible. The panel must have an automatic load management system to ensure electricity draw never exceeds the panel rating.
- Properties must demonstrate completed installation of either a Level 2 EV charger or conversion of a natural gas appliance to an efficient electric appliance. Eligible conversions include:
- Conversion of a natural gas water heater to an electric heat pump water heater
- Conversion of a natural gas stove to an electric induction stove
- Conversion of a natural gas furnace to an electric heat pump
