The SmartHome Battery Program, offered by Ava Community Energy, provides a rebate to help you install a home battery system. This program is available to both CARE and FERA applicants. As a CARE or FERA participant, you can choose whether to share your battery's capacity with Ava's Virtual Power Plant (VPP). However, if you own a Tesla, you're required to share 80% of your battery's capacity. The rebate amount is $3,280, which is approximately $500 per kilowatt (kW) of battery capacity. For a typical home, this means an installation incentive ranging between $3,000 and $5,000.
