TECH Clean California is offering a $700 rebate on the purchase and installation of a qualifying heat pump water heater. This rebate is available for homeowners with a 55-gallon or larger tank, and the water heater must meet specific efficiency and safety requirements.
- The water heater must be CEC JA-13 (thermostatic mixing valve) compliant and have a CTA-2045 Compliant Communication Port.
- The water heater must be at least Tier 3 on NEEA's most recent list.
- Homeowners must enroll in a demand response program within 30 days of installation.
- This rebate is not available for split-system water heaters.
- Homeowners must meet income qualifications of under 80% of the area median income or 250% of the federal poverty level.
