The TECH Clean California Heat Pump Water Heater Rebate - Low Income provides a generous rebate for eligible low-income homeowners. The rebate covers the cost of a qualifying heat pump water heater, as well as installation requirements like a thermostatic mixing valve and a communication port for demand response programs.
- The heat pump water heater must be at least Tier 3 on NEEA's most recent list.
- Homeowners must enroll in a demand response program within 30 days of installation.
- This rebate is not available for split-system water heaters.
- Eligibility is based on household income, with a limit of 80% of the area median income or 250% of the federal poverty level.
