Rebate Overview

Overview

The California Energy Smart Homes rebate is a program that rewards homeowners for fully electrifying their homes and disconnecting from gas service. Incentives will remain available through 2027. To secure your incentive amounts for the 2025 calendar year, submit your rebate application before November 3, 2025. While this rebate will continue through 2027, projects submitted after the November 3 cutoff may have reduced incentive amounts. The base rebate amount is $4,250 for 2025, with potential bonuses bringing the total up to $10,900. Most projects will qualify for an additional $1,000 electrical infrastructure bonus and a $300 variable speed heat pump bonus. Air-to-water combination systems also qualify for an $800 low-global warming potential bonus and a $1,000 bonus for integrated heating and hot water systems. Additional bonuses are available for electrical load management and battery-enabled electric stoves. This rebate is only available to customers of PG&E, SoCal Edison, and SDG&E electric utilities.

Benefits

Upgrading your home with energy-efficient appliances can make your living space more comfortable and reduce your energy bills. By switching to electric systems, you also help reduce pollution from gas appliances, contributing to a healthier environment. Plus, these improvements can increase your home's value and appeal to future buyers.
