The EV Level 2 Residential Charger Rebate is a program offered by Riverside Public Utilities to encourage homeowners to install Level 2 electric vehicle chargers. This rebate provides up to $500 to help cover the cost of purchasing and installing a new Level 2 charger at your residence. To be eligible, the charger must be wall-mounted and installed at your residence within Riverside Public Utilities' service area.

More Information
- The charger must be a new, wall-mounted Level 2 (240-Volt AC) unit equipped with the SAE J1772 standard or Tesla connector plug.
- An electrical permit from the City of Riverside’s Building and Safety Division is required for the installation of a hard-wired EV charger or new/modified 240V power socket.
- Applicants that utilize an existing 240V power socket are responsible for ensuring the existing socket is compatible with the charger plug type and loading requirements.
- A maximum of one rebate per household is allowed every three years.
- Rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis until funding has been exhausted or the program is discontinued.
- Upon approval, rebates less than $500 will be applied as a bill credit to the RPU customer account. A rebate check will arrive by mail in 6-8 weeks for rebates of $500 or more.
