Overview
The Turlock Irrigation District offers a $500 rebate for installing a new heat pump system with a minimum efficiency of 15 SEER. This rebate applies to replacing existing home air conditioning or adding a new unit. The cooling capacity must be less than 65,000 BTUs (5.4 tons). Split systems require a matching evaporative coil. Limit of two rebates per household during the unit's useful life (18 years).

- Applications must be completed and submitted prior to scheduling of a post-inspection
- Completed applications must be received by TID no later than six months from the purchase date of the equipment
- Applications that are not complete, without a signature, or without all required documents will neither be processed nor entitle the applicant to be included in the first-come, first-served funding order of the rebate
- Detailed and dated copies of all invoices must be submitted along with pertinent equipment data and cut sheets before issuance of rebate
- Rebates are subject to inspection and verification by TID
- Limit of two rebates per household during the unit's useful life (18 years)
- Proof of Energy Star certification (for AC units) and current AHRI certificate (for Heat Pump units) are required
- Approval of rebate is at the sole discretion of TID
- Rebate amount cannot exceed purchase price
- New HVAC installs are ineligible
- All installations are subject to TID inspection
- Keep a copy of all documents submitted; documents will not be returned
- Discrepancies can invalidate the rebate application
- Renters are required to have the property owner sign the rebate application
- Proof of contractor invoice for work completed is required
- Completed Contractor Verification Form is required
- Rebates are subject to inspection and verification by TID
- TID is not responsible for any items delayed or lost in the mail
- The acceptance of an application by TID is not a guarantee of rebate funds
- TID disclaims any and all liability for loss or damage which may arise as a result of the applicant’s participation in this program and makes no expressed or implied representation or warranty that the installation of the product will result in a reduction of the applicant’s electric utility bill
